Eryri (Snowdonia) Conservation Area Appraisals and Management Plans
Production of Appraisals for 14 different conservation areas within the Eryri National Park. These assessed the special interest of each area, which included their character, key views and notable features. The management plans included an assessment of issues threatening the significance of each area (e.g. identifying buildings at risk or patterns of unsympathetic changes), opportunities for enhancement and advice on boundary changes. Our work also included a report on ‘Energy Efficiency Measures in Conservation Areas’ in order to respond to the current climate change emergency, give practical advice on how to improve energy performance of traditional and locally significant buildings without harming their special character or technical performance. We were involved in public consultation exercises to explain the purpose of the assessments, the results of our findings and feedback into the final reports.
