The Portico Library

The Portico Library, Manchester

The Portico is a Georgian members’ Library in Manchester.  A grade II* listed building, it is an outstanding C18 library.  The practice are appointed architects (since 2017) and have, so far, led the preparation of a feasibility and options appraisal, Condition Survey, a Conservation Plan, various conservation works to stone, bookcases, interiors etc and recently supported the development of a successful NLHF application.  The practice have advised on relationships with adjoining developments and many other matters. Robert sits on the Library’s House Committees which takes responsibility for planning each year’s capital and maintenance works.
