Welsh Presbyterian Church, Liverpool
Chambers Conservation have led on a project to restore the derelict ‘Welsh Cathedral’ on Princes Road in Liverpool. Once the tallest building in the city, this fine listed Victorian Church is now a ruin, missing its roof and with areas at risk of collapse. Working with the Merseyside Building Preservation Trust and Children’s Charity KIND the practice supported a successful NLHF bid for the development of the project. The team produced a strategy for repair and conservation, a Conservation Plan and innovative architectural proposals for the creative re-use of the building as a new home for KIND.
